Schengen Visa

Yes for Single Trip policies, we will refund the premium to you in full, if for any reason you are denied a Visa by the country where the trip takes place. All you need to do is provide satisfactory evidence that the Consulate has denied your visa before your trip was scheduled to start.

A minimum medical expenses sum insured of 30,000 Euros is required in order to comply with the Schengen Visa requirements. All the plans offered on this website fully meet with the Schengen Visa requirements.

Yes, All Chubb Travel Insurance plans are approved by the Schengen Consulates in Thailand.

Yes, all Thai nationals travelling whether for leisure or business purposes to the European countries under the Schengen agreement require a Schengen Visa and as part of the Schengen Visa application you must have a travel insurance policy covering your trip. Please note, not all countries in Europe are under the Schengen agreement. For example the UK and Ireland are not part of the Schengen Visa arrangements.

Product Features

You can purchase your travel insurance on the day your travel commences, prior to the commencement of your journey.

Single-Trip Travel Insurance: You can only purchase your travel insurance up to 12 months before your journey commences.

Annual Travel Insurance: You can only purchase your travel insurance up to 3 months before your journey commences.

You must at least be six (6) months old at the start date of travelling and you must not be over eighty-five (85) for International plans. For Domestic plans, you must at least be one (1) month old at the start date of travelling and you must not be over eighty-five (85).

Cover is available to Thai Citizens or Non-Thailand Citizens residing in Thailand with a valid Non-Tourist Visa at the time of this application.

General

You must be at least 6 months old onward to 85 years old at the start date of your travelling. However, for domestic plan, you must be at least 1 month old onward to 85 years old at the start date of your travelling.

No, you do not need to provide a medical certificate to take out this policy. However please be aware that losses arising from pre-existing medical conditions are generally not covered. Please refer to the Policy Wording for full explanation and defined terms.

Yes - the maximum trip period covered is 120 consecutive days

Yes - the maximum journey period covered is 180 days and 30 days for Domestic plan.

The policy does cover trip cancellations in certain circumstances, however please refer to the Policy Wording for full explanation and defined terms.

You may cancel Chubb Annual Travel Insurance policy by giving advance written notice to the Chubb. Such termination will become effective on the date on which Chubb receives the notice. Chubb will refund the premium after deducting a partial premium for the effective period of the Policy on a pro-rata basis.

Chubb Single Trip Travel Insurance policy cannot be cancelled once the policy is issued except in case you are denied a visa by the embassy of the country where the trip will take place. Evidence from the embassy must be presented and you must inform the Company before the date on which the coverage comes into effect. If you do this we will refund any premiums you have paid.

Each trip covered under the Chubb Annual Travel Insurance policy may be for a maximum of 120 days only.

Chubb Single-Trip Travel Insurance policy cannot be extended once you leave Thailand. However, you can make any changes of travel period prior to the date of travelling.

No monetary excesses – You can claim all benefits up to the full amount in the Policy

Luggage and Personal Effects

This insurance covers financial loss directly resulting from the loss or theft of a credit card during a trip overseas up to the amount specified in the product/plan you purchase. Please refer to the Policy Wording for full explanation and defined terms.

No, confiscation or destruction by customs or other authorities is not covered.

We will reimburse you for essential emergency items of clothing and toiletries up to the amount specified in the product/plan you purchase.

Baht 1,000 – 5,000 for any one item or set or pair of items and maximum at Baht 8,000 - 40,000 depends on selected plan.

Overseas Medical, Cancellation/Additional Expenses

It will depend on the facts of your claim, but we will only cover loss of deposits and cancellation charges arising from the unforeseeable death of your family members. Subject to the policy limits, terms, conditions and exclusions.

No - the policy excludes cover for a change in plans, other than for a journey which is cancelled, curtailed or unable to be completed because of the unforeseeable death, Accidental Injury or Sickness or Disease of your family members, or other unforeseen circumstances beyond your control. No - the policy excludes cover for losses arising from an employer's request or demand.

Overseas Medical Assistance (applicable only to International Plans)

Chubb Assistance is a 24 hour emergency help line. In the event of a medical or similar emergency overseas, you simply call the number shown on the card and Chubb Assistance will assist in locating medical assistance in your area.

Personal Liability

No – The Personal Liability benefit specifically excludes cover for losses arising from the use of mechanically propelled vehicles.

Note: We will not consider any liability claim unless our written approval has been given before you become involved in litigation or make any undertaking to pay. The total liability for any claim including legal and other costs is the same amount shown on your Certificate of Insurance.
